Peter Jefferson
Hawaiian Colorist
Peter began drawing as an engineer in Boston. He received a Masters of Architecture at Carnegie-Mellon University, where he first began painting in watercolor and studied life drawing. Peter’s art studies flourished at the DeCordova Museum School (Concord, MA). His studies continue with Master Oil Painter, Ovanes Berberian.
Peter has directed the Kohala PleinAir Painters since 2013. His artwork has won numerous awards including the 2022 Hawaiian Plein Aire Perspective. Additionally, his art has been featured in many individual gallery shows, magazines, and television; his hula work is featured on the HGTV program, Building Hawaii (Episode 7).
Peter's mantra is “Live your life as an Exclamation rather than an Explanation” (Sir Issac Newton).
