Colleen Kimura ('Tutuvi')

Colleen Kimura is a Hawai‘i-based screenprint artist who uses bold color and large-scale illustrations of Pacific flora and fauna.  Starting out, her goal was to make comfortable garments for local wear in Pacific island prints.  Each design was a new project and she focused on them one at a time.  Whatever beauty, surprise, and uniqueness she could bring to each design — that’s what I would call my ‘brand’ – now named ‘Tutuvi’.  Tutuví is a Fijian word meaning to wrap oneself up.
